The Nutrimix Group dates back to 1978. It was then a small family-owned operation in Barrackpore – Nutrimix Feeds Ltd. The company started primarily as a broiler growing company with the main emphasis on producing broilers for the traditional markets. As the demand for broiler chicks became greater, the existing suppliers in the market became inconsistent and unreliable. We recognized the need to hatch our own chicks and our hatchery was constructed in 1981.

Similarly, the identical scenario existed for greater demand and quality for broiler and animal feeds and soon thereafter in 1984 our feed mill was introduced. Customer preferences dictated that our presence was needed in the processed chicken market and in 1988 the broiler processing plant came on stream. Subsequently, in 1994, our company established its presence in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate with the construction of our Grain Terminal Facility.

In 2004, we launched the state-of-the-art Flour Mill in Point Lisas. This herculean task was another first in our country – the first privately owned and operated flour mill competing directly with a state-owned enterprise. Further progress in this division was inevitable and in 2016 International FSSC 22000 Certification was attained. Once again, Nutrimix lead the way in being the first flour mill, both in Trinidad and in the entire CARICOM Region to have gained recognition for its global food safety standards.

The newest addition to the group came in 2022 with the next generation hatchery. This Facility is the most modern in the Caribbean and Central America. At the heart of this plant is a fully integrated computerised system that manages the Hatching process, appropriately called “The Maestro.” As the name implies, the Maestro orchestrates and monitors the entire process, from the placement of eggs for hatching up to the delivery of chicks for dispatching to our contract farmers.

The Nutrimix Group considers itself fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute to the many communities and its stakeholders in the way we have been doing over the past decades.

We commit to keep doing so in our future development plans by honouring the legacy and tradition of innovation and entrepreneurship set by our Founder Mr. Shaheed Mohammed, as we continue to build our nation for the Next Generation.
